The 1897 Nedersetting Guest House & Restaurant is a magnificent original sandstone building with a warm atmosphere. It has stories to tell which date back as far as 1897 when Mr. Watermeyer, the local surveyor, placed the first settlement beacon here.
The 1897 Nedersetting is situated in the heart of Nieuwoudtville, bulb capital of the world. Apart from Nieuwoudtville’s famous flowers, there is a host of other interesting places and attractions to visit. Be sure to stop at the Nieuwoudtville Waterfalls, Hantam Botanical Garden, Flower Reserve, the Quiver Tree Forest, Glacial Floors and, for the adventurous hiker, the Oorlogskloof Reserve.
